Antenatal Care & Education

Antenatal care and education is vital for good birth outcomes. We are working with our partners the Rotunda Hospital and the HSE to provide antenatal care and education classes in local community settings. This will make it easier for parents to engage with these services in their community.

We are supporting our partners, the Rotunda Hospital and HSE, to provide antenatal services for parents in the community.

A local Public Health Nurse will coordinate the provision of:

  • Antenatal education classes in local community settings

Providing access to antenatal services in the community will have benefits for expectant mothers and babies that include:

  • Easier access to clinics and antenatal education classes
  • Better preparation for birth
  • Better birth outcomes
  • Early screening for developmental delays

Anyone who is expecting a child, it doesn’t have to be a first child, living in our target areas in Dublin 5 and 17:

  • Belcamp
  • Bonnybrook
  • Darndale
  • Glin
  • Kilmore West
  • Moatview
