Home Visiting

Our family mentors work alongside parents from pregnancy to when the child starts school.

We visit families in their homes and give information on child development and parenting, with the aim of improving school readiness.

Parents who take part in our Home Visiting Programme receive:

  • A monthly visit from a family mentor, from pregnancy until the child starts school

  • Information on child development

  • Tips on how to encourage the child’s development

  • Triple P parenting courses

For children:

Pregnancy and the first few years of a child’s life are a very important time when children grow and develop. The right supports for children today will help them in the future:

  • to grow up healthy and happy
  • to make friends
  • to develop good relationships
  • to do well in school

For parents:

Our home visiting programme helps parents to:

  • have more confidence in parenting
  • have more positive relationships with children
  • build their knowledge and skills
  • enjoy being a parent

Anyone who is expecting a child (it doesn’t have to be a first child) living in our target area in Dublin 5 and 17:

  • Belcamp
  • Bonnybrook
  • Darndale
  • Glin
  • Kilmore West
  • Moatview
