Infant Mental Health Network

Preparing for Life coordinates the Dublin North East Infant Mental Health Network. This group brings together practitioners from a wide range of disciplines who are committed to supporting parents and children prenatally and throughout early childhood. The purpose of the network is to provide space for peer learning and support so that professionals are better equipped to promote and employ key messaging related to Infant Mental Health.

The group is comprised of local public health nurses, home visitors, early years educators, primary school teachers, family support workers, special needs assistants, social workers, early intervention specialists, community development workers, substance misuse support workers, speech and language therapists and occupational therapists. Recent topics have included the psychological dimensions of pregnancy and early motherhood, developmental trauma, infant sleep and play.
